Although this is far from my first time working with Caminando, it has that same level of excitement to me. Caminando is a brand the demands the highest possible quality out of themselves, so instantly we were able to resonate with one another. The first hiker boots I worked on with them came out amazing, and were very well received. With the next level projects KITH has been releasing, I knew I wanted to work with them again, as I felt the timing was perfect.

I have built my reputation on offering products that are otherwise unattainable, due to their absence in the marketplace. I have always wanted to offer a different level of goods. I truly am a product nerd in a sense, as every tiny detail matters to me, and nothing escapes my eye. As I progress further into my career, that feeling has only grown, as I see more and more people following a similar formula. I do not just want to be different, I make it a requirement for every thing I release now.

The Ronnie Fieg x Caminando Ripple Mountain Mid follows that mentality to a tee. It does not look like any boot I have seen before. I supplemented a heavy duty Vibram ripple sole onto a hiker boot upper, and the results were incredible. I also added a leather quilted collar, which heightens the silhouette only slightly, while adding an Americana-element to this very foreign boot model. Heavy duty D-ring eyelets lace up the front, while a self-fabric heel pull aids accessibility in the back. I wanted to keep the colorways monochromatic and timeless, which I feel shows the progression of my work from my previous collaborations with Caminando. I chose Black and Wheat, two of my favorite winter colors. The upper is made from an incredibly high-grade nubuck that is designed to wear with beauty. The calfskin leather lining provides warmth, and an undeniable comfort as soon as the boot is slipped on. These boots are made to be worn. Durability was key, and especially with me living through New York winters, I know how strong I needed to make these models. Every pair comes with a custom box, custom insoles, and an additional lace option.

The Ronnie Fieg x Caminando Ripple Mountain Mid will retail at $220 USD, and will be available in-store in limited quantities at the New KITH Shop 644 Broadway and KITH Brooklyn 233 Flatbush Ave on Black Friday, November 28. An online release will follow on Cyber Monday, December 1, at 11AM EST on KithNYC.com. Minimal quantities will also be available at nano universe in Tokyo, as well as Monkey Time, Beauty & Youth, and United Arrows in Shinjuku, Japan.
