Although not known heavily in the world of sneaker collaborations, fashion retailer Barneys is absolutely one of the most formidable names in the industry. A long existence paired with a top tier selection of products has garnered Barneys a high level of respect. While most commonly stocked with sneakers from Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Dior Homme, Barneys also carries NIKE models and some New Balance releases. Displaying their affinity for both high and low fashion, the retailer collaborates with New Balance to redesign the often overlooked 1700 silhouette. The material composition for this pair is remarkable, as perforated pigskin suede is used for the foundation, where full grain black leather panels rest over top for a nice color contrast. 3M panelling is seen near the collar and forefoot, while Glow in the Dark material is used for the medial face panel, as well as the outsole, and body underlay.
