Today, the World Basketball Festival kicks off in a city synonymous with basketball legacy - Chicago, IL. To commemorate this clash of court talent from all over the globe, NIKE releases a special model Lunar Force 1, aptly titled the "2014 World Basketball Festival" edition. The original Air Force 1 is updated with a Lunarlon-cushioned midsole, which features a bezel detail, to symbolize the progression the sport is endlessly experiencing. The upper takes things a bit more literal, as a basketball-textured, and colored, leather is adapted. Small navy accents are seen on the mesh liner, and leather heel tabs which are completed with "WBF"-branding. White leather Swoosh logos complement the white midsole and white cotton laces. The final detail is an icy blue translucent outsole which features somewhat of a gradient color scheme, growing lighter from the heel to toe.
