To assist with ushering the CT300 back into their current catalogue, New Balance calls upon four notable international footwear shops to collaborate on their only tennis shoe. Hailing from all over Europe, experienced retailers 24 Kilates, Sneakersnstuff, hanon, and Firmament each recreate the CT300, thus displaying the innate versatility this silhouette possesses. These Made in UK CT300's are draped in premium materials, each lined with a soft white leather, and feature a variety of colors.
From Spain, 24 Kilates brings their Barcelona-flavor to the silhouette, entitling it "Vamos a la Playa." The toe and heel use a royal blue suede which fades nicely into the dark blue-green mesh vamp foundation. A dark sand-colored suede is seen on the saddle, strapped together with tonal laces. An orange hit of suede is the last touch, seen on the heel tab, acting as the warm sun to this summer-inspired design.
Swedish brand Sneakersnstuff keeps it simple and retro, naming their model the "1999." A white mesh vamp features grey suede overlays including the saddle, heel wrap and tab. Burgundy suede is seen at the toe wrap, finishing this simple yet effective makeup.
hanon, from Scotland, creates a model they have dubbed the "Phoenix." The "Phoenix" utilizes a myriad of tones including lavender for the nubuck toe and heel wrap, rich purple for the pigskin suede saddle, vibrant orange for the pigskin suede "N" logo, and an oceanic blue for the pigskin suede heel tab. All of these colors and materials are layered over a black mesh vamp.
Lastly, Firmament, based in Germany, opts for a more toned down classy styling, which they have titled the "Pine Sunset." A white mesh vamp is the base for bitter chocolate-colored pigskin suede hits at the toe wrap and heel tab, pine suede is used for the saddle which houses a white leather "N" logo, and a maroon suede is seen on the heel wrap.
All four of these collaborative CT300's are available now at Kith Manhattan and online at KithNYC.com.
